With more than 30 years of experience in the public relations arena, Cheryl Procter-Rogers is currently Senior Consultant, A Step Ahead PR Consulting and Coaching, a national consulting practice where she develops and implements strategies and counsels clients in the areas of crisis communications, strategic planning, business strategy, executive coaching, special events, internal communications and media relations strategy. 

She is accredited in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is a certified master coach accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

She has worked with a variety of corporations and organizations in a number of business sectors. She served in management positions for DePaul University, Home Box Office (HBO), Nielsen Marketing Research and Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company. As a consultant, her clients have included Coca-Cola, Nissan, Allstate, McDonald’s, Sears, McCain Foods and Magellan Corporation, to name a few.

As an executive career coach, Cheryl helps clients focus and maximize their efforts to achieve a successful career or jump-start a stalled one. She helps clients build and enhance critical organizational and communications skills needed for success at any level. She empowers her clients to become strategic risk takers and reach their personal and professional goals.

She was the 2006 national president and CEO of the Public Relations Society of America, the world's largest PR organization.
